Defense Department officials announced that nine Guantanamo detainees were transferred to Saudi Arabia on Saturday. The detainees are originally from Yemen but could not be released earlier because of violence and political instability in Yemen. Pentagon officials confirmed on Thursday that an American C-130 plane crashed in Afghanistan, killing 11 people including six U.S. service members.
