Emin Agalarov, The Russian Pop Star Embroiled in the Latest Controversy

A talented singer with a family tied to the Russian Oligarchy in closed circles with Vladimir Putin. The man now being identified as the arranger of the meeting between Russian lawyer Natalia Veselnitskaya.

Emin Agalarov

Agalarov, 37, joined his family business, the Crocus Group, after receiving high honors in finance school in Switzerland. The singer would join his father Aras Agalarov, one of the richest and most powerful men in Russia. In 2013, Putin awarded the businessman with Russia’s highest civility award.

Emin, like Donald Trump Jr., came up through his family business and became executive vice president of the Crocus Group, in charge of its retail-entertainment complexes and restaurants.

During the 2013 Miss Universe Pageant in Moscow, President Donald Trump would make an attempt at pursuing a Trump Tower in Moscow. Trump and the senior Azerbaijan would be in close ties ever since. Seemingly, the two found out they had just as much in common although from different nations, respectively.

Trump also appeared in one of Emin’s music videos. In addition, the President Trump held concerts for the singer at a Trump golf course and another at the Miss Universe contest.

Trump had nice words to say for Agalarov on his 35th birthday, calling him a “winner” and a “champ.” Also, in an interview with the Chicago Tribune, Agalarov called Trump “a super-successful businessman.”

So there is no denying that Donald Trump Jr. could have close relations with the Azerbaijan family and it was apparent that when British talent manager Rob Goldstone pitched Emin Azerbaijan’s idea to set up the meeting with Veselnitskaya, that Trump jr. would be willing to accept.

Now the singer is being scrutinized for being enamored in the email exchange between Goldstone and Trump Jr.

In the emails, sent months before the 2016 presidential election, Goldstone specifically tells Trump that he could provide incriminating information about Hillary Clinton to which Trump Jr. vehemently accepts.

Again, is this a cause for concern?

Trump Jr. cites that Political Opposition Research is relatively common during political campaigns. The meeting, you can argue, also took place shortly before the Russia ties played a more critical role during the 2016 campaign.

Given the news spectacle surrounding Paul Manafort and Jared Kushner during the Russia Probe, this only allows for more criticism to be implemented on behavior of those that were implicitly working for the Trump campaign, though Trump Jr., cannot inherently be associated.

The meeting was cut short when Veselnitskaya’s intentions were made clear in discussing the Magnitsky Act rather than having actual incriminating evidence.

Goldstone apparently apologized to Trump Jr. following the meeting to which he repeatedly called a ‘waste of time.’

In order to remain transparent Trump Jr. released all the evidence of emails surrounding the exchange with Goldstone and Agalarov.

Trump Jr. also went on Hannity Tuesday night to provide his side to the story, downplay the Russia Collusion narrative, and explain how there was nothing conducive to the meeting.

President Trump also took to Twitter to send praise to his son for being so open about the meeting that took place in June.
