NBC News Anchor Megyn Kelly hosted the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF) in which she sat down with Russian President Vladimir Putin.
The annual business event discussed topics from oil Russia’s economy, global politics, and business and economic matters across the world.
The session also featured leading global figures such as India’s Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, Austria’s Federal Chancellor, and the President of the Republic of Moldova.
Given President Trump’s same day removal from the Paris Climate Accord, the agreement became a major talking point during the session to which Putin fully supported the President’s decision.
With Russia’s recent recession in 2017 and the country attempting to reduce its dependency on oil, Putin is was obliged to comment on his country’s status in the economic environment amidst oil prices and sanctions. Kelly pressed the Russian President on his relationship with Trump and how he stands on some of the criticism relayed towards the U.S president to which Putin replied, “Don’t worry, be happy.”
Coverage of The SPIEF can be aired on the CNBC International website.
