Fox News Signaling The End of Bill O’Reilly

Bill O’Reilly appears to be set to leave Fox News, after multiple women have come forward saying they were harassed by O’Reilly. O’Reilly appears to be losing support from the Murdoch family. Bill O’Reilly’s future is scheduled to be addressed during a board meeting on Thursday.

Fox News recently renewed O’Reilly’s contract but following the recent allegations and a New York Times article outlining the allegations against him, more than 50 companies have pulled their advertising from his show. O’Reilly is host of one of the top-rated news shows on cable. He has been vacationing in Italy and is expected to return to his show on Monday. Mr. O’Reilly’s legal team claim this is a hit job by liberal groups trying to take him down.

“Bill O’Reilly has been subjected to a brutal campaign of character assassination that is unprecedented in post-McCarthyist America,” “This law firm has uncovered evidence that the smear campaign is being orchestrated by far-left organizations bent on destroying O’Reilly for political and financial reasons. That evidence will be put forth shortly, and it is irrefutable.”

A decision on the future of Bill O’Reilly is expected to come in the next few days, possibly dealing a major blow to the network. Fox News has already lost founding chairman, Roger Ailes and former prime-time host Megyn Kelly. Over the past two weeks, protests against 21st Century Fox, Fox News and Mr. O’Reilly have intensified.

A women’s advocacy group held a rally outside of Fox News headquarters and called for the ouster of O’Reilly. The group also sent a letter to Fox executive James Murdoch. While O’Reilly is faced with these allegations, he still has managed to draw in high ratings for his show.

Should O’Reilly be released from the network, it’s unclear who will replace him during his timeslot. One possible option is Jesse Watters, who has appeared on O’Reilly’s show numerous times. They could also terminate the show and replace it entirely with a new program.
