First Daughter Ivanka Trump: Unable to lose for winning
The White House announced that Ivanka Trump is now an employee of the U.S. government and will now serve as assistant to the president. This announcement comes after rumors circulated that she would have an office in the West Wing.
Trump will take no pay, a move similar to what President Donald Trump has done and now joins her husband as an unpaid adviser to President Trump. Ms. Trump released a statement after receiving criticism from ethics experts.
“I have heard the concerns some have with my advising the president in my personal capacity while voluntarily complying with all ethics rules, and I will instead serve as an unpaid employee in the White House office, subject to all of the same rules as other federal employees,”
“Throughout this process, I have been working closely and in good faith with the White House counsel and my personal counsel to address the unprecedented nature of my role,” she said.
Ivanka Trump’s official title will be assistant to the president, while her husband, Jared Kushner’s title is senior adviser to the President. Ivanka has filed financial disclosure forms that are required of all federal employees and will be bound by the same ethics rules.
