An assailant went on a rampage on Saturday at the Louisiana Airport. Jefferson Parish Sheriff Newell Normand announced that Richard White approached a TSA security checkpoint and after being confronted by a TSA agent, White pulled out a can of wasp spray and sprayed the agent in the face. There were no life-threatening injuries to anyone other than the suspect who was shot. A TSA officer was struck in the arm by a bullet fired by law enforcement, he said. White pulled a machete out of his pants and began swinging it, and sprayed a second TSA officer, Normand said. That officer grabbed a piece of luggage to defend himself and ran through the metal detector, and was able to call out to a sheriff’s deputy stationed at the airport.
White pulled out a machete and attacked a female agent after spraying a second agent with wasp spray. White was then shot three times, once in the chest, the face and the thigh by a law enforcement officer stationed at the airport. White was later taken to the hospital where he remains unresponsive. Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport was shut down for 20 minutes as police and emergency responders swarmed the area. Read more at Examiner.com
