Weekly News Recap
Didn’t have time to watch the news this week, well here it comes. This week the nation was strongly focused on what was happening in Ferguson. At the beginning of the week, the Obama Administration fired Secretary of Defense Chuck Hagel and is now in the hunt for a replacement. Hagel said he would stay on the job until a successor is appointed. U.S. officials announced after a tireless round of negotiations with Iran ended nowhere, those negotiations will be extended another seven months. Earlier this week it was decided that Ferguson Police Officer Darren Wilson will not be indicted on several charges. As a result of Wilson not receiving an indictment, Ferguson exploded into a fireball of protests. As the protests escalated, Missouri Governor Jay Nixon increased the number of National Guard troops in Ferguson. The St. Louis Dispatch revealed an assassination and bomb plot targeting Ferguson Police Chief as well as the county prosecutor. On Friday, Ferguson residents were unable to take part in Black Friday shopping as protests closed several nearby shopping malls.
